Three counties in California’s northwest are now officially free of the dries — Del Norte, Humboldt, and Siskiyou — while two others — Trinity and Shasta — are nearly so following last week’s rains.
California as a whole is 2.7 percent less drought-ridden this week compared to last. That said, 87.97 percent of the state remains in one or another of the official drought categories.
Three counties down, fifty-five to go.
