From a new report from the Pew Research Center:
The two most disturbing points on this chart:
1) The sheer number of people of all political stripes who believe that some sort of magical “New technology” will resolve this issue.
2) That “limiting fertility rates” is (yet again) not even considered as part of the solution. (While governments continue to incentivize large families.)
Taken as a whole, the chart illustrates why meaningful action on climate change is unlikely to be taken: People are clinging to an unsupported belief that the problem will magically go away at some point in the future while avoiding even considering that the underlying problem – overpopulation – could be addressed.
