Maps of the day: The Zika virus continues to spread


From the latest Zika virus epidemiological update from the Pan American Health Organization, two maps mark the spread of the disease in the Americas during the first eight months of the year:

And from the Florida Department of Public Health comes word that the Zika virus is now being actively spread by mosquitoes in two regions in Dade County, one in a trendy section of the City of Miami, and the second in the even trendier Miami Beach. As of Friday, 56 people have been infected locally:
