“A coup d’état in slow motion”

Former New York Times bureau chief Chris Hedges has emerged as a powerful and eloquent critic of the status quo. In this interview with RT [formerly Russia Today] he describes the recent history of the United States as “a coup d’état in slow motion,” leading to increasingly totalitarian measures by the corporate-owned state. Hedges describes Obama as a brand, under whose regime “the old engines of corporate power remained virtually untouched.” [HT American Samizdat.] esnl concurs.
