  1. Clearly this amount of groundwater depletion is unsustainable. What gets me is that those with economic interests from within California’s Central Valley (i.e. farmers) haven’t done more to demand that California’s politicians create some sort of blue ribbon panel that would make recommendations on long-term alternative sources of water for agricultural use.
