While police and government officials are relieved the apparent fiery death of fired Los Angeles Police Officer Christopher Dorner, California historian and UC Riverside Professor of Creative Writing Mike Davis offers some qualifications, writing at the London Review of Books Blog:
Perhaps his brain synapses have been misfiring for a long time, but the core of Dorner’s Manifesto is a coherent account of how a police Explorer Scout realised his life’s dream as a LAPD rookie and then had his reputation and career destroyed for being an honest cop. He debunks the myth – propagated by the LA Times, Mayor Villaraigosa, and most of the liberal establishment – that thanks to Saint Bratton a kinder, gentler and more diverse LAPD now protects and serves Los Angeles.
Indeed Dorner’s eye-witness account of routine sadism, racism and conspiracy in the department is totally in line with its historical institutional culture and was inadvertently fact-checked by the LAPD’s wild shooting of two innocent women and Chief Beck’s kneejerk exculpation of the officers involved. (Those who think that there are no more Rodney Kings should look carefully at the case of the LAPD patrol woman who killed a mentally ill woman last summer by stomping on her genitals.)
The torment of untimely atrocity cloaks the larger questions that were never properly addressed. These concern the culture of distortion & corruption with the denial of hate in the streets of L.A. followed by attempts to create a force equal to and better than the ugly consequences of corrupted policies. Among these are those created by the Federal Government creative-destruction and strategic “intelligence” interventions against their own fear of rebellion from ethic based suppression. A critical view of this background includes intentional experiments against entire sub-populations with drug running interventions that created chaos as political soulutions, but also violence in the street “fortifications” that resulted in gangland self-destruction & Rage politcs. With this came Reagan’s release of law and order justice; libertarian black market gun production; and the Police evolved from its “high society” private army enclaves to become mercenary middle class buffer zones against the plagues of dementia created by elite strategies of concentric class containment & “security” for the classes…(f..k the masses). Then we came to face the white class structure which brutally exposed violence within the police force, justified by the extreme nature of containing brutal violence outside of the police force (fire against fire…someone gets burnt!).
The extreme misfortune is that there was no one strong enough to truly manage this and the unfortunate culture of the blue line blue-up in their faces.
There is a movement in this country by career policeman of ideals and vision. We need to encourage them as our community members most welcome…and let the others know that they blue-themselves all the way up with their continued failure to screen out the process and the people that are corrupting what would otherwise be…perhaps…one of the finest police forces on the face of the earth.

In the beginning an angel for returning a large amount of cash, and reporting police corruption – excessive force.
But in the end a danger to others (mainly police) and so the police say – to himself.
Take all of this with a pinch of salt.
Did he take his own life with one shot to the head? Or was death imminent anyway -by being burnt – at the stake.
We have not evolved at all.

Protesters show support for Christopher Dorner
Point 1. “This is not … about supporting the killing of innocent people. It’s supporting fighting back against corrupt cops and bringing to light what they do.”
Point 2 “How the police handled this -– they were the judge, the jury and the executioner,” … “As an American citizen, you have the right to a trial and due process by law.”

Point 3 African American males and their children last week were scared for their lives in California if they bore any resemblance to Chris Jordan Dorner. Don’t know how Asian women got shot? Seems like any of us could have been shot by police last week for a very flimsy reason.
And is this a window into how the government would take citizens’ guns away?
Waco Waco
I mean wake up.
