Surgery Tuesday, drugs to follow


With the bladder, prostate, and attendant lymph nodes set for the chop Tuesday morning bright and early, we’ll be out of it. . .literally. Then come a couple of additional days on heavy pain meds.

So expect no posts for a week or so, while we recover from the pain, learn the mechanics of living without a cancerous bladder.

Here’s the patch of belly skin, four inches to the right of the navel and a half-inch below, that will be the site of the stoma that will drain into The  Bag, my new life’s companion after tomorrow.

The faded X marks the original position, later changed by the Kaiser ostomy nurse.
