The FBI, Reagan, and the war on Berkeley


Following up on Wednesday’s post about allegations that the late Berkeley activist Richard Aoki, the man who armed the Black Panthers, was an FBI informant, here’s a two-part interview from Democracy Now! with former San Francisco Chronicle reporter Seth Rosenfeld on the FBI’s close relationship with Roanald Reagan and their joint attacks on student activism in Berkeley.

In another show, Goodman and coshost Juan Gonzalez focused on the Aoki allegations, interviewing both Rosenfeld and Aoki biographer and UC Santa Cruz professor Diane Fujino, who chairs the school’s Department of Asian American Studies.

It’s an interesting discussion, with Fujino defending Aoki.
