Yep, it happened in a town we know well from childhood, Estes Park, Colorado.
The surveillance camera video, via the London Telegraph:
The victim was the local Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, with the ursine intrusion enabled by a door latch fail.
Surveillance video shows the bear going in and out of the store seven times before his craving was satisfied.
The owner of the store said the only evidence was a little dirt on the counter and a bit of scrap paper.
She discovered the bear was able to get in because a lock on the door didn’t latch properly.
Colleen Slevin of the Associated Press adds the telling detail:
The bear helped itself to some English toffee and chocolate-chip cookies dipped in caramel and milk chocolate “cookie bears.”
